Spirit Fingers Anyone?

Oh Torrance,
I can't stand your cheerleading squad
but I love your pom poms,
I'd feed you bon bons all night

I'm watching the movie Bring It On right now.
That song is just so darn sweet and amusing.
And that boy, Jesse Bradford, he's a cutie.
Gosh, if a boy wrote me a song like that one day, I'd be so delighted! I mean it's a little cheesy, a little silly, and a tad bit embarrassing.
But isn't that just perfect all together? I think so.
For the last half hour I've been on a manhunt online to find the song from the movie and I finally got a hold of the artist and name. It's called 'Just What I Need' by Rufus King and it will probably be played continuously on my iPod for the next several days.
Or months.

Also, I changed the look of my blog, just to try some new stuff out and because I was getting a little bored of the black background. I really like having the white template now, I think it feels more fresh now. Or maybe I'm just imagining things?
But the look might change again in a couple of days, we'll see.

Cheers!

Wrestlers, Batman, and Paddles.

Have you seen the most recent Blog of Note?
It's hilarious! I could try and describe it but it would sound ridiculous, so just check it out for yourself here!

Also have you heard of photo paddles?
They are charming!
Conceptual designer Steven Haulenbeek created them; he's also made some other cool objects.

Cheers!

Please Fasten Your Seat Belts, We Are Experiencing Some Turbulence.

Check out this funny passport cover.
Even though I would never want my plane to crash or have an emergency landing I always sort of wanted to try out the slides that they show in the safety videos!

Cheers!

August 20th.

Tim Gunn Enjoying the OutdoorsImage by LizaWasHere via Flickr

A day to fear and love!
That will be my first day of school, senior year, wow- that's the fear part by the way.

What's to love?
I just found out that the new season of Project Runway starts that same day!
Ahh! It's about fricking time!
After Bravo lost their contract for Project Runway, I was a little scared; even though I love Lifetime- especially their movies- I felt like Bravo was Project's home.
But then Bravo tried to create a copy cat show called "The Fashion Show".
I tried watching one episode, it was painful.
They had nothing.
No Heidi, No Tim Gunn, no pazzaz, or special quality,
So after about ten minutes, I was like auf wierdersehen, you're out.

August 20th!
I'm going to add the countdown widget to my blog.

Cheers!

Ezra, Ezra, Ezra.

Ezra Miller :: ClownImage by Jannie-Jan via Flickr

Oh! I think I have a celebrity crush- and trust me that saying something, I don't usually bother with them, because let's face it, NOTHING will ever happen between me and Nick Jonas.

But I just couldn't help myself, his name is Ezra Miller. He's so adorable, look at that picture! He's on USA Network's new show Royal Pains, which I highly recommend. Ezra plays a rich teenager, named Tucker Bryant, in the Hamptons, where a new concierge doctor (played by Mark Feuerstein) has emerged on the scene. In an episode Tucker finds himself in a car accident with his father's expensive sports car. Tucker calls in Hank - Feuerstein's character- to check on his girlfriend, but then ends up being the patient himself. Anyways after that he's been a supporting character in a couple other episodes and I really hope that he remains in the show. He's talented; I think (really hope) he has a successful career. So that's it- my celebrity crush, which will never amount to anything.

Gosh, just imagine if he somehow saw this post, that'd be a little embarrassing. Oh well, I could live with it!

Cheers!

Tell us why ________ is a good place for you.

College.
Admissions.
Essays.

How the hell do you write one?
I'm struggling with that questions right now. I really enjoy writing, but this task is overwhelming because I feel like I need to include so much in the essays- intellect, proper grammar, style, wit, and individuality to name a few.
Right now I'm just starting to brainstorm what I could write about, but I don't know if my ideas are actually good or just crap. I hope I can get my ideas sorted out.
Or this fall will be ten times more stressful than it already needs to be.

Cheers!

Home Sweet Home.

I'm finally back, I went around Italy for about two weeks and then I came back to Chicago only to leave for Seattle two days after that. It's been a whirlwind! I think I've finally readjusted to the central time zone, so I can sleep in again! I was waking up at 5am because I was still on Italy time, now I can't have any of that- I much prefer to sleep in until 9 or 10.
As much as I love traveling and enjoyed going to both Italy and Seattle, it sure does feel nice to be in my own bed and in my newly cleaned room- thanks to my mom, who capitalized on my absence by moving all of my furniture, but I have to give her credit, I really like my room now, perhaps even love? It's still in the works though.
I can't believe it's July already! There's still so much I have to do, so many people that I need to reconnect with before the doom and gloom of school!
Here's a quick list of what I need to accomplish (in no particular order):
1. Go thrifting at least once or twice more this summer. I went today with Ausrine and I found some terrific belts!
2. Finish Pride and Prejudice, The Devil Wears Prada, & Confession of a Shopaholic. Also read  Twelfth Night, Ignatius' Biography (I got a copy from SILS and I'm actually quite interested in reading it.) and whatever else I can fit in, if I even get all of those done!
3. Hang out with friends- there's a long list of people that I want to see.3. Complete the Common Application for colleges.
4. Study for SAT Subject tests and write a couple of college essays.
5. Read the manual to my new camera, so I can use it to my fullest advantage.
6. PLAY TENNIS. So I can hopefully play singles during the season. I haven't played in a while and I definitely need to work on everything.

And there's more, but I don't feel like writing it out. I just have to get stuff done, I think I should follow Nike's advice: Just Do It.

Cheers!
